CCC November 2010

Dear members,

Our November event was indeed a very special event with many special arrangements to celebrate Deepavali such as bigger venue, great line up of vocal and instrumental performances, good food from Udupi and great fun filled 'party' after! It was a packed hall during performances and about 100 of them stayed back for dinner.

Fantastic performance by all the kids, first time and repeat performers (Nitin, Vignesh, Soundarya, Prasanna and Sandhya) and their accompanists (Sanjay, Gopal, Divya and Hrishikesh). It was real nice to introduce new voices/instrumentalists to the group and always a pride to hear improved performances from repeat

performers. Thank you children, you all did really well and Thank you parents for nurturing their talents!

Namdev and his dedicated team (Jayaraman, Ravindran, Mohan, Kannan, Ramchandran) did an excellent job with setup/decorations and thanks to all those who stayed back to help with cleanup, we appreciate it! Thanks to all the parent volunteers, Sudha, Lakshmi, Prathima, Viji, Rekha, Rama and Pramila for all their help and a BIG thanks to Pramila for managing the money collection/tallying work, we were able to account for all boxes except for a couple.

The 'party' after dinner started off with Avinash and Pragathi doing a rap-song together, followed by many other CCC kids showing off their talent with singing ABCD in aboghi, bhajans, jokes etc. Then the dance floor opened with a graceful solo by Srividya (and a kalakkal imitation by Kanaka) followed by many others (to Namdev's collection of up-beat songs), which revealed the 'dancing side' of many of our members, it was great fun. The event concluded with a beautiful carnatic version of 'JanaGanaMana' in ragamalika, set and sung by Geetha, Soundarya and Aishwarya.

Our last event for the year will be on Dec 5th, Sunday so please mark your calendars for the same. I will send out the Evite as soon as all the details are finalized.
