Dear members,

I was nervous about how our February event will go given my personal travel plans but the processes in place and the extremely reliable volunteer base we have proved that CCC is a well-oiled machine!!! We had yet another fabulous, well attended event and we got to introduce a lot of new talents to our encouraging CCC audience and every single one of them did remarkably well, making an impression for themselves!

Shrikrishna Shivakumar, Our Lead Presenter for the January JAM session started off our event with his JAM session participants to demonstrate how they can do Thisram (for Mohana varnam), Kandam (for Saveri varnam) and combo-nadais for Ata thala Bhairavi varnam – Viriboni. It was so wonderful to watch these kids JAM in January discussing NADAIs and again come together to demonstrate on stage while having a lot of fun with peers! On a side note, our February JAM session also occurred after the CCC event and you can watch them demonstrate live during March CCC (those who come to the event on-time have the privilege to watch this though!)

We had the pleasure of introducing SIX talented, ALL-NEW to CCC artists, four on the vocals, one on the veena and one mrudangist. Gaurav, Kanav, Varnika, Anirudh did their debut vocal performances while Sameer (veena) and Shrikrishna (mru) showcased their accompaniment skills for the first time in CCC. Repeat performers Aparna, Omsri and Vivrd profoundly impressed the audience with their mature performances in Hemavathy, Bhairavi and Bilahari respectively. No concert is complete without the able accompaniment support and thanks to our talented accompanists Yogitha, Thamba, Ananth, Geeta, Sanjna, Achyut, Vignesh, Sathya, Srivatsan, Keerthi and Akshay Venkatesan. In short, February performers made my return from India so worth coming to!!!

I never have to worry about the audio part of the event! Namdev takes care of the entire thing including setup and clean up, we appreciate your help sincerely Nami! Many thanks to the audio team volunteers who help him month after month as well! Thanks to Anand Gurumurthy who took over the stage setup task in January and he is there (and sometimes done) even before we get to the venue!!! Sriram deserves a special thank you as he covered the entire task in my absence for the bio compilation and filled in for Uma who will work on the bios projection task going forward. Latha and Veena’s attendance tracking occurred without any disturbance to the performers, thanks to all the members for your cooperation in this regard.

Here are the wonderful treasures from the event, thanks Prasanna for the capture and quick upload!
