It was a new venue for CCC and we had our own concerns going into the venue Saturday afternoon as to how things will go, but with the Almighty’s grace, the event went well without glitches. A big thank you to all those who attended our July CCC event in support of our performers and a bigger thanks to those parents who helped us with setup and clean up.
New voices Ankita and Sanmathi sang beautifully making a strong debut in CCC, new violinist Megha made an impression with her soft and melodious playing, and mrudangists Sumanth and Viresh made a grand entry in their supportive roles. Rest of our repeat performers Advika, Umesh, Swathi, Harshita, Vaishnavi, Gaurav and Shrikanth gave a gripping performance and Vid MN Hariharan (disciple of Sri Karaikudi Mani) who attended the event in full said later that the performances were totally enthralling! All performers kept within their allotted durations which enabled us to finish the event on time and our big thanks to them all. Returning accompanists all did a great job enhancing the experience for all our audience and I am so proud of each one of them.
We are grateful to Vid Srikanth Chary for accepting to be our featured guru and answering questions in a new Q&A format. It was an educational, interesting and informative segment for our students & parents and our heartfelt thanks to him. We plan to upload the entire segment on our website when available.
We are indeed blessed to have Namdev in CCC! He took care of the entire audio needs (venue does not provide any audio equipment) in spite of doing another event that morning. Big thanks to Thyagu, Venki, Balaji R. & Sam Ravindran for helping Nami do the audio setup/cleanup within a restricted time window. My heartfelt thanks to Murali and Rahul for coming early, helping us with load/ transport/unload the audio equipment, and doing other setup work like stage setup, chairs etc as well. Murali also helped us behind the camera and here are the pics from the event. And he has done his best given the not-so-great lighting on stage. Also grateful to other volunteers who helped us with a smooth sailing event as well, attendance desk was covered by Latha and Veena, powerpoint by Srikanth and Bhooma, and Arun Tirumalai took on the challenge of video recording/editing this month and we will be sharing the excerpts from his work shortly as well. Thanks to our parents (of performers) Aparna Seshadri, Gomathy Gopi (for completing taking care of the cake part), Jaya Ganesan, Priya Sethuraman, Radha L, Rekha Kuchibhotla, Sija Krishnan, Sripriya Sai, Swapna Balan, Vidhya Ramaswamy, and Vidya Raj, our volunteers enjoyed some chai/snacks during the event.
Please save August 4th Sunday from 2-5pm for our next event and we will be going back to our usual venue, SSP next month.
Last, but not the least, our sincere Guru Purnima wishes and pranams to all the gurus in our immediate CCC family and outside! We value what you do for our students and we owe the vibrant Carnatic music bay area fraternity to your dedicated teaching.
