Dear members,

This is the first time in CCC’s history (since 2009) that we did an event in July as we usually break for summer, atleast for one month. But with the growing number of children expressing their interest to take the stage, CCC hosted the July event this year and gave opportunities to 24 budding artists, all of whom performed exceptionally well and made the efforts worth it! Thank you to those who made an effort to attend the event and a BIG thank you to those who stayed until the end!!!

Our June Jam session participants Soundarya, Preetika, Sweta and Gayathri put together a powerpoint presentation on the topic of Evolution of Carnatic music after working offline and that was well received. Congratulations to these young girls for showing commitment to delivering what was expected of them even though they had a very late start and thanks to Sujatha and Gayathri (parent volunteers) for their help!

Fourteen compositions were presented at this event, and in fourteen different ragams, making it an interesting one to listen to. Ragas Kathanakuthookalam, Panthuvarali, Navaragamalika, Jaganmohini, Begada, Lathangi, Dhanyasi, Nalinikanthi, Kalyani, Ranjani, Desh, Shanmugapriya, Kamboji, Thodi made the list by our young pool of July performers Vihaan, Shreya, Jyothi, Samyuktha, Shashank, Aditya, Shivani, Akshaya, and Shruthi. Proud of all of our accompanists who constantly use every opportunity to improve upon their skills to give their best each month!

Our audio team has been doing a superlative job as led by Namdev Nayak and kudos to their very organized way of working that we are never delayed by them! Namdev and his team members are a great asset to CCC and we dearly thank each of them.

We sincerely appreciate the core volunteers who help us with the setup and cleanup. Special kudos to Uma Sriram for putting the bios power point slides before leaving on her vacation and Srikanth Mahalingam for stepping in to run them for us at the event yesterday. A big Thank you to chai volunteers Meena and Anitha as well!

Here are the links to the interesting sections of the summary and many thanks to Prasanna for diligently capturing both the photos and the video excerpts!
