Dear all,

We felt blessed to celebrate our gurus in our Guru Purnima special event Sunday and my sincere thanks to all the performers and their gurus for presenting Guru themed compositions at my request.  Kudos to each of our performers and congratulations to all the performers who did their debut performance. Our alumni emcees Shrikanth Shivakumar and Ananya Devanath did great and kept the audience engaged by sharing their personal experiences of living with ‘Gurus’ at home and it was so apt to have these two emcee this Guru Purnima special event.

We introduced Laasya, Aditya, Meera and Varun on the vocals, Nitika on the violin and Prahlad on the mrudangam and it is gratifying to see that new talents are emerging every month to assure that Carnatic music is in safe hands with the younger generation. It was heart-warming to hear that the kutti vocalist Meera stopped eating ice-cream from the day she heard that she was going to perform in CCC and I hope she had a big bowl of it after Sunday to make up for that.  All of our accompanists did great, kudos to each of them.

Our heartfelt thanks to each of our beloved resident gurus for making time to be there to encourage, bless and cheer our performers amidst many activities over the busy weekend. Thank you Sri Srinath, Sri Gopi, Sri Arvind, Smt Kasthuri, Sri Shivkumar, Sri Hari, Smt Hamsa, Sri Natarajan and Sri Saravanapriyan. It was wonderful that vidwan Sri MN Hariharan also attended the event.

Thank you to our beloved core team volunteers for helping with so much dedication which resulted in a smooth event that started and ended on time, and special thanks to our backend volunteers and the volunteers who planned ahead and took care of everything. Special thanks to our audio team volunteers led by Thyagu for taking care of the audio needs in Nami’s absence to ensure our performers are heard loud and clear.

Here are the pictures from the event (Thank you Vidya Raj, Balaji Lakshminarayanan)

Full Video of the event (Thank you Nithya Ashok for uploading this within 24 hrs after the event :)

Please save August 13th 2023 from 2-5pm for our next event.

Regards,

Padma
