Dear members,

Grads, Grads and Grads! It was a fantastic evening for all of us who attended the June CCC event and being amidst 12 high school seniors, sharing their success in music and academics was a heart warming feeling! Thank you to all those who graced the event with your presence.

Every single one of our June performers did a superb job presenting items at their level and special guest Vidwan Kallidaikurichi Sivakumar who attended the event in full, praised all the budding artists for their wonderful performance. We got to hear many new voices; introductory slot performers Rajita, Shashank and Sinthu all did a very fine job. Malini’s violin solo, Chinmai-Sanjay mrudangam duet followed by two Ragam Thanam Pallavis by Shruthi and Priyanka were a special treat to listen to. CCC accompanists Aparna, Geeta and Divya did a remarkable job accompanying their main artists and Ananya did a delightful job on the veena and got on the accompanists pool this month. All the mrudangam accompanists Pranav, Akshay V., Sriram, Vivek, Gopal, Ajay all did a fine job and received compliments from our special guest. Thank you children for putting your best efforts and making the event such an enjoyable one for all of us! It is extremely gratifying to watch you and all the efforts we put in for CCC seems completely worth it!

Namdev took care of the audio needs with help from Thyagarajan and Venkatesan for the setup, and Ramchandran / Kannan for the clean up, thank you folks! Million thanks to all those numerous volunteers who helped out before and after the event, special mentions are due to Hari, Priya, Anand, Venkat, Balaji and Deepak. Thank you Akila and Vimalini for bringing tea for the volunteers. Many thanks to Usha Aravindan, Radha Mahes, Bavani Ramanan, Padma Nayak, Latha Srikant and other grads moms for their help with the special GRAD celebration we had! This segment was the most liked by many of our members, seeing all of our graduating kids in one stage! I have shared the Grads group picture from this segment on FB, feel free to check out our Facebook page if you haven’t already done so (and like it!).

Our next event is August 10th 2014, Sunday from 2pm to 4.30pm, please save the date for our August performers. Also, I am currently sorting out the entries received for Neyveli sir’s workshop in August and will contact you with additional details shortly. You may or may not get the choice of your content/dates as those are decided based on the interest of the majority registrations.

As I mentioned at the event, the community service wing of CCC, also known as YSTCA (Youth Service Through Cultural Arts) will be hosting its third event on Saturday, June 28th, 2014. Please support them if you can, more details can be found at their website

Last, but not the least, Murali Swaminathan who covered the event on the camera in Prasanna’s absence is working on the pictures, thanks much Murali! Sharing the link here.

Wishing you all a wonderful summer!

Ps: it was a pleasant surprise to hear Divya’s min speech on behalf of all Grads, after the celebration! Many thanks to all those who have written to me regarding that, and we appreciate your kind words!
