It did feel more real that COVID is almost behind us when we saw our friends at CCC Sunday. Even though it was hard to recognize them with masks on, seeing people in close proximity brought the much-needed cheer and happiness. Hopefully things will only get better going forward.
We showcased 22 performers in the august presence of some of our resident teachers, parents, and essential volunteers. Rohini started off the event nicely with a Dikshidhar composition, our repeat performers Jayesh, Sanjay and Jishnujith enthralled everyone with their first IN-PERSON performances this month, Sudiksha confidently delivered another masterpiece composition of Dikshidhar, Vidushee mesmerized all with her Reethigowlai, Pramati’s refreshing Pallavi in kApi, and Urmika’s dwi-raga Pallavi gave the event a grand finish. Kudos to all our performers for getting back into the groove of performing in a live setting, in front of an audience after this long two-year break. Some of the accompanists did their first IN-PERSON accompaniment and I’m sure they would have felt butterflies while on stage even though they did a great job supporting their team. Practice is the mantra which will help get over that feeling. Our repeat accompanists showed everyone how much they’ve improved over the last two years with their confident accompaniment.
Extremely grateful to all our resident gurus for taking the time out of their schedule to attend our event and for blessing our performers with their cheerful and encouraging presence. THANK YOU Smt. Akila, Sri. Gopi, Sri. Hari, Sri. MaheshBalaji, Sri. Natarajan, Smt. Rama, Sri. Ravindrabharathy, Smt. Sandhya, Smt. Savita, Sri.Srinath. It was so lovely to see our young teachers Shrikrishna Shivakumar and Geeta Shankar in the audience too, supporting students.
“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.” Our volunteers Namdev (aka Nami), Thyagarajan (aka Thyagu), Sam Ravindran, Latha Srikant, Karthik Rishi, & Vivek Ramani proved that saying, by spending their precious Sunday afternoon entirely for CCC! Thanks to Anand Gurumurthy, Uma Sriram for being there to show support, and to a host of other volunteers who help us with necessary back end tasks pre- and post-event. Last, but not the least, thanks to the parents of performers for their help with setup/cleanup (special thanks to Venkat), and with delicious snacks/coffee/tea for all our attendees, made the afternoon enjoyable for all. Our special thanks to Shyamala, Seetha, Ratna for their delicious sundal, Bhuvana, Subhashree, Gouri for yummy cut fruits, Vaidy, Ram Bala for cookies, juices, Sindhu, Priya, Veena and Kavita for coffee/tea.

Thanks to all committed students/parents who supported us virtually by joining the live stream and for sharing encouraging feedback for our performers. It was heartwarming to see a lot of student participation there and reading their comments for their peers felt very special, thank you for that. We got only a handful of pics from the audience and have added them to the album above, thank you! Finally, thanks for being so patient when we had technical glitches and when we went over timewise due to unavoidable issues.
Please save April 10th 2022 Sunday from 2pm-5pm for our next event which falls on RamaNavami. We hope to continue doing HYBRID events until the situation becomes safe for unrestricted in-person events.
