Dear members,

Wish you all a very happy and music filled Navarathri!!!

Our sincere thanks to all those who attended our CCC event Sunday! I am sure all of you are feeling the impact of many music events happening in the bay area these days and we are so blessed to be living here where we have an option to pick and choose where we can go each day of the weekend! Given that, it is very special that you attended our event to encourage the CCC budding talents!

We had a stellar jam presentation by the September jam session participants, which set the tone for our event! Special appreciation for that goes to our jam session volunteers Akila, Sujatha and Gayathri and the lead presenter Geeta Shankar who was a last minute replacement as the original lead presenter Sahana Prasanna could not make it. The young voices Prahlad, Samyuktha, Pramati & Abirami, Janani & Tejeswini, Vasudha & Aditi and Shivani presented one raga each from the 4th VEDA chakra, displaying what they had recently learnt from the September jam session. Congratulations to each of them for staying true to their commitments and delivering beyond our expectations!

We introduced two new vocalists, Rohini and Tejeswini, both of whom left a lasting impression with the listeners. Amala, Sara, Anirudh, Avinash, Kaushik and Vedika all have improved significantly since their last performance and I am so happy with their progress. God always opens many windows when he closes one door! This is so true! We are witnessing the birth of really good string and Mrudangam accompanists on our stage and it is so heartening to see their commitment to do well in CCC!!! Kudos to them all!

Our event had a scheduled start of 12.30pm and I was a bit concerned if we’ll be ready with setup on time. However, our team of enthusiastic volunteers Namdev Nayak, Balaji, Sriram Iyer, Sam Ravindhran, Ramchandran, Jayaraman and Anand Gurumurthy put together the stage/audio setup in a record 30 minutes, giving themselves enough time to eat lunch (was that the reason it was done so quickly?) prepared by the parents of our October performers. On a serious note, my heartfelt thanks to them for their dedicated, enthusiastic and involved support for CCC each and every month!

Thanks to Vidya Ganesan, Kavitha Sriram, Kavita Thirumalai, Nirupama V, Akila Iyer, Latha Nagaraj, Bhooma Srinivasan for cooking a delicious lunch for these folks and many thanks to the other volunteers who brought in tea/supplies etc as coordinated by Radha Hari. Also grateful to our attendance volunteers Latha, Veena and Sadhana, Powerpoint volunteer Uma Sriram and our official moments’ protector Prasanna Narayanan!

I totally understand if you are only interested in seeing the pics/video excerpts (and not my long writing) that our hard-working Prasanna compiles for you to relive the moments, enjoy!

Please save November 8th Sunday (2pm to 5pm) for our next event. Attendance was a bit weaker than normal and we hope to see more of you in the upcoming events!

Regards,

Padma Mohan
