Carnatic Chamber Concerts also known as CCC is a pioneer organization in the San Francisco Bay Area which supports students learning Indian Classical Carnatic Music. CCC founded in January 2009 by Padma Mohan with just twelve students has grown exponentially over the past decade. As a registered 501 (c) 3 non profit organization, CCC relies on volunteer donations and operates entirely on volunteer support. CCC serves as a launching pad for stage performances for many aspiring young musicians learning this ancient and rich art form.
Carnatic Chamber Concerts (CCC) is dedicated to promoting Indian Classical (Carnatic) music among local youth in the Bay Area. CCC hosts monthly events in which budding artists from various music schools showcase their talents in front of a knowledgeable audience. Second generation Indian-American youth train in America by working with master artists who live here or in India and through this long period of training, CCC provides a presenting platform to them so that they may stay engaged in the process to become better musicians. CCC currently supports over 350+ music learning member students from all over the bay area, by giving them performance and learning opportunities in a professional yet friendly platform with encouraging audience members.
Learning or practicing music can help improve academic skills, develop physical skills, cultivate social skills, refine discipline and patience, boost self-esteem and many more. We engage and motivate students learning music through regular music interactions with peers and seniors to promote sustained musical growth over the years. We are able to distinctly witness the progress CCC students exhibit from the exposure they gain through our initiatives and it is a gratifying experience.
CCC monthly events showcase musical abilities of about 24-28 students each month, and they come from various music schools and backgrounds. Students present for varied duration from 5 to 30 minutes depending on their ability and age. CCC also offers group learning opportunities from Master Artists and presents group performances as a showcase event of the learning. In addition to monthly events, CCC organizes special events, workshops and lecture demonstrations to further educate/engage students of music. CCC with its unique concept, serves as an umbrella organization for South Indian Classical music in the Bay Area, and focuses on promoting children who learn vocal and instrumental music. Many students who have grown with CCC by participating actively have won recognition in USA and India from prestigious music organizations and some of our alumni have started teaching as well.
