Dear members, That was an incredible Motherâs Day event we had last Sunday! The hall was so packed with almost all members in attendance and the performers did justice to everyoneâs time and presence. A big thank you to all those who made it to CCC, special mention to all our gurus whose presence made the event very grand! The atmosphere at our event was like a festival and Dasha Tarangini (our 10th anniversary production) training had a nice kick off as well. We are so very grateful to all our sixteen gurus whoâll be training our CCC students for this special event on Jan 20th 2019 and best wishes to all our participating students. We did everything in our power to make the moms happy! Our May line up had many siblings and it was a delight for the moms to watch their children perform together on stage! We introduced 6 new performers to make more moms happy! Best of all, we started and finished ON TIME, kudos to our performers for keeping within their allotted duration. Manasiâs intro at the event was with an apt start on Devi, followed by a popular purvikalyani piece Gnanamosagaradha by Anika, Vaishnaviâs vibrant Varamu, Nitikaâs young yet sruthi aligned voice, Rajeevâs pleasing Panthuvarali, Yogithaâs soulful Vaagadeeswari, Varali in Sripradhaâs versatile voice, Brilliant Bhairavi by Samyuktha and a dual-ragam Motherâs Day (and upcoming Fatherâs day) special pallavi by Shrikanth sums up the feast we had Sunday. It was a delight to hear two new violinists Shreya and Tejas in CCC for the first time and we added Maanav and Varchas to our already strong percussion pool this month. Rest of our repeat performers, Alaap, Prahlad, Sanika, Tanisha, Srishiva, and Ananya did a fantastic job with their respective string accompaniments. Rishi, Arush, Pranav, Sachin, Santhosh, Shreyas, and Shrikrishna carried off the performances well with their excellent layam support. Namdev bought and brought a new board to CCC to give our children the best audio possible (heard that his old board was a bit faulty and he didnât want to take any chances) and our heartfelt thanks to this selfless soul who spends his time, money and efforts for CCC and its children! We are grateful to all our core team volunteers for their help with various aspects to ensure a smooth event, month after month! Hope you enjoy these pictures from our event (courtesy of Murali Swaminathan). Many thanks to Suresh who covered the video in Anand/Vidyaâs absence, Here is his excerpt clip. Please save June 10th Sunday (2pm to 5pm) for our next event! Regards, Padma Mohan |
