Namaskaram everyone,
CCC just hosted its Thanksgiving-themed November 2024 event this past Sunday at Shirdi Sai Parivar, where we thoroughly enjoyed performances from several young artists. This event featured 6 intro performers: Ritika Nallani (vocal), Saatvik Narayanan (mridangam), Krishnabandhu Srivathsa (flute solo), Adarsh Sai Suresh (mridangam), Mahathi Ivatury (vocal), and Anirrudha Shivakumara (violin solo)! This also included a couple of intro performances from returning performers who showcased their talent in another form/instrument. In addition, all of the returning performers did a splendid job at showcasing their talents and musical growth.
The highlight of this event was the commitment everyone showcased throughout the event. Though we had to work around some last minute order switches, we had a smooth event. We had a few double headers in terms of ragams: Veena Iyer and Naren Sriram presented two popular krithis in Shankarabharanam, and Krishnabandhu Srivathsa and Laasya Mallaparagada showcased two compositions in Simhendramadhyamam. Pranav Natarajan, Mahathi Ivatury, and Kaustubh Bommaganti, brought the audience beautiful flavors of staple ragas like Mohanam, Arabhi, and Vasantha through their singing. Ritika Nallani and Vibha Raghavendran also presented unique kritis by Saint Thyagaraja: Amma Ravamma and Marubalka. Lastly, Pranav Ganesan presented a melodious Gowrimanohari followed by a Ragamalika, Karunai Madi Tavarum, and Aniruddha played a soulful rendition of Amba Kamakshi.
Continuing the thanksgiving segment, we would like to thank all of the supportive gurus who attended the event despite their busy schedules! Thank you to Sri. Gopi Lakshminarayanan, Sri. Srinath Bala, Sri. Hari Devanath, Sri. Ravindrabharathy Sridharan, Sri Mahesh Balaji, and Smt. Rama Thyagarajan. We would also like to acknowledge the support of all of the gurus who couldn’t make it to this event but continue to help train the students for their performances at CCC.
We would also like to thank all of the wonderful CCC volunteers. All of the volunteers work tirelessly alongside Padma Aunty and Mohan Uncle to have the stage setup, the audio working perfectly, the videos and photos turning out beautifully, and handling all of the other logistics needed to run this event month after month. As performers, we have it easy; we are able to just come to the venue and only worry about giving our best on stage as you handle everything else for us. We truly appreciate the time and effort you put in to make CCC happen every month, and this wouldn’t be possible without you all, so thank you once again.
We would also like to thank Padma Aunty for giving us this opportunity to emcee at the November event, and also to Chinmai for guiding us through this entire process and being a great resource that we could always rely on. It was such a special feeling to be back on the same stage taking on a different role which gives a lot of happy memories.
Our next CCC event will be on December 8th, from 2pm-5pm at Shirdi Sai Parivar, so we hope you all can block off your calendars and attend to support the young talents we will be showcasing in this event!
Thank you again all for attending this event, we really had a great time and hopefully you all also enjoyed our emceeing. We also missed many who did not come, hope you all had a great belated Deepavali and we wish for a prosperous holiday and Margazhi season!
Sincerely,
Swati Iyer and Sriram Subramanian (November CCC Emcees)
